( ) Quite a few plot points I didn’t see coming, but I also wasn’t too surprised by them. I liked the rest of the “zumra†and although Altair was too enthusiastic for his own good, I grew to like his charm. Either way, I didn’t like that little detail. It didn’t seem very realistic or perhaps she was just terrible at schooling her features. I didn’t really like how open her facial expressions were. She wasn’t as fierce as I thought she would be, or as ruthless. I of course liked Zafira’s character, but not as much as I thought I would. What I really liked about him was that he knew that he was doing wrong but he fully embraced that about himself, yet at the same time hated himself for it. I very much liked Nasir’s character, but I’m alway drawn to the dark characters so I’m not necessarily surprised by that. I was not expecting it to be what I just read, but I liked how the story played out in spite of my original ideas.
